By Erika MathieuSunny South NewsUnited Conservative Party (UCP) MLA Joseph Schow is seeking re-election in the Cardston-Siksika riding for a second term. MLA Schow graduated from Magrath High School before completing a Bachelor of Arts out east at Dalhousie University, and later attending George Washington University for graduate school, where he completed his Masters with a focus on political management. During his political career with the UCP, Schow has formerly served as Deputy Whip. In October 2022, Schow was appointed House Leader, and also serves on the Government Legislative Review Committee.Residing in Cardston with his wife Nicole, and their three children, Schow is a fifth generation southern Albertan and has worked in the small business ad advertising sectors. Alberta Ministry of Education funding school divisions across southern Alberta

In a press release, it is stated the funding will help create the Southern Alberta Collegiate Institute in partnership with Lethbridge College and Career Transitions. This will encourage students to find career pathways and build capacity in areas like the trades, agriculture and medical. With this funding, hope is it will have a drastic influence on the lives of students with expansions in educational opportunities and career development programs. “The proposal for the new collegiate emerged from the work of the Pathway Partnership of Southern Alberta. Dear Editor, One in five children worldwide are now zero-dose or under-vaccinated, meaning they’ve missed out entirely or partially on routine immunization during COVID. Those are the lowest levels since 2008. And yet, in the March federal budget, Canada cut foreign aid by 15 per cent. This was myopic at a time when wise global leadership is needed. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga County Department of Health is raising awareness about fentanyl being mass-produced to look like prescription pills and being sold to teenagers via social media. The fake pills can be made to look like oxycodone (Oxycontin, Percocet), hydrocodone (Vicodin), and alprazolam (Xanax); or stimulants like amphetamines (Adderall). Former Mavis Discount Tire manager testifies in Schoharie Limo Trial

SCHOHARIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Witness testimony continued on day three of the Schoharie Limo Trial. Susan Mallery, Schoharie County District Attorney, called Virgil Park, the former store manager of the Mavis Discount Tire on South Broadway in Saratoga Springs, to the stand. Nauman Hussain is charged with 20 counts of manslaughter and 20 counts criminally negligent homicide in connection with the 2018 crash that killed 20 people. Park testified he saw Hussain multiple times in 2018 for service to the 2001 Ford Excursion involved in the crash. Park told Mallery that Hussain made the final decisions as to what repairs were made to the limo. Between April and May 2018, Park said Mavis replaced the brake pads, a caliper on the rear drivers side, and issues with the brake pedal, but there were other issues with the brake system that were not repaired.
