MADISON, Ill. - Start your engines! NASCAR meets the Metro East once again as Enjoy Illinois 300 returns this weekend for the second consecutive year. The inaugural Enjoy Illinois 300 race and festivities last year proved largely successful. NASCAR fans from all around the country gathered at the World Wide Technology Raceway for the race and three days worth of NASCAR-themed events. The raceway packed a sold-out crowd of 57,000 seats on race day, setting the stage for an encore this weekend. To get ready for raceway royalty in the St. Louis region, here are five things worth knowing ahead of the Enjoy Illinois 300. 1. When is the race? How can I watch? The Enjoy Illinois 300 race is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. CT. If you're unable to attend the NASCAR Cup Series race on a ticket, FS1 will carry the TV broadcast. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - On Tuesday, the Missouri Senate delivered a bill to Governor Mike Parson's desk that would impose tougher penalties for people who fire celebratory gunshots.The legislation, known as Blair's Law, had kicked around the state Capitol for more than a decade.The legislation is named in honor of Blair Shanahan Lane of Independence, who died on July 4, 2011, after being struck in the neck by a falling bullet. She was 11.Aaron Sullivan of Kansas City pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. Sullivan, who owned the pistol that fired the fatal round, admitted that he and others were shooting the gun in celebration that evening. Sullivan served 18 months in prison. (Disney) Disney has revealed new details about the upcoming Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction set to open at Disneyland next year. The attraction, which replaces Splash Mountain at Disneyland, will feature music from award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard, Disney announced on Thursday. Morton is writing, arranging and producing an original song for the ride. He is also working on new renditions of songs from "The Princess and the Frog" that will be featured on the attraction. Blanchard, who played Louis the Alligator’s trumpet parts in the film, is working with Disney on the music for the queue. In this rendering, Ralphie, Prince Naveen’s brother, is playing the drums.
